Heel Type

The heel type record looks very simple but is actually extremely complex behind the scenes.

For every heel type there are 2 values that can be added, Extra Front and Extra Hind. These values are used to calculate the Steel Used on Handmade Shoes and represent the extra lengths of steel (in inches) that need to be added to the calculation to work out the required steel to make up a shoe consisting of the selected Heel type.

The values we recommend include:

Pencilled Heel - 1.50 (FR) 1.25 (H)

Upright Heel - 1.75 (FR) 1.50 (H)
